Rabbi Stuart E. Davis grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and received his undergraduate degree from American University in Washington D.C. He became an ordained rabbi at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio. Rabbi Davis earned a doctor of divinity and a master’s degree in educational psychology. Rabbi Davis led a congregation in Atlanta, GA before relocating to Kansas City where he led the New Reform Temple and his four sons (Andy, Steve, Larry, and Jeffrey).
Rabbi Davis possesses an unwavering belief in equality and acceptance for all. This belief influences his modern interpretation of the Talmud. Consequently, he has always felt that the love shared by two people transcends any institutional restrictions. He was one of the earliest proponents of interfaith, non-traditional wedding ceremonies and considers it a unique privilege to officiate one of the most important days in someone’s life. Rabbi Davis will enthusiastically work with each bride and groom-to-be to create a meaningful, personalized ceremony that reflects their beliefs and adequately expresses their love.
He continues to work as a Reform rabbi, chaplain, and psychologist in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
