"Blessings" is the theme of the Dodi Li Ketubah. The words of the "Sheva Brachot," or seven blessings of the wedding ceremony, remind us of the characteristics of a true marriage. The grapes, symbolizing the blessing of Kiddush over wine at the wedding, home and holidays, sanctify this union. At the top, "Bet Hey" are the two letters that stand for "with God's help." Around interlocking wedding rings reads "This is my beloved, this is my friend" from the Song of Songs. Pomegranates, a special fruit of Israel, symbolize abundance. According to the Midrash, their seeds number 613, the number of laws in the Torah. The doves of peace, mated for life, fly beneath the view of King David's tower and the walls of the Old City. "Wear me as a seal upon your heart, as a sign upon your heart" is a quote from the Song of Songs. "Yet shall be heard in the cities of Judea and within the walls of Jerusalem, the voice of gladness, the voice of joy, the voice of the, the voice of the bride" arches atop the Ketubah.

Shabbat Ketubah by Sivia Katz B'echad," the word beneath the traditional crown found on many antique Ketubot, means "in unity." It also begins the text with the date, indicating the first day of the week.Therefore, this design may be used only for ceremonies taking place from Saturday at sunset, after Shabbat, to Sunday at sunset. The quote, reiterating the theme of the couple's oneness, is from "Rad Halylah," an Israeli folksong.
